"*Écocolonie industrielle post-capitaliste"*, Ca La Fou prend place sur les 28 000 m2 dans les ruines d'une colonie industrielle de l'arrière-pays barcelonais. Fondée par la Coopérative Intégrale Catalane en vue de développer un prototype d'habitat social, Ca La Fou est un centre actif et influent de réflexion et de travail autour des cryptomonnaies coopérative.

Lieu radicalement anarchoféministe et queer, s'y développent des projets qui relient biotechnologies, informatique, et questionnements critiques de l'identité. Actuellement, l'écocolonie abrite une trentaine de résidents qui s'activent entre le hackerspace, le biohacklab, l'atelier de menuiserie, la brasserie, l'atelier de savon et la restauration des logements collectifs. L'économie est basée sur les loyers versés par les résidents, les revenus commerciaux de certains projets (la brasserie, la menuiserie), et certains revenus ponctuels liés à l'organisation d'évènements culturels qui réunissent les villages alentour.
